Circa: 1839-46 Condition: Excellent antique condition Color: Brown Manufacturer: John & George Alcock
Presented is a Staffordshire brown transfer tureen or vegetable server measuring 10 inches wide by 7 inches tall. The pattern is Pompeii, a classic design of urns, flowers, and foliates. Note also the highl embossed blossom finial.
It is in great shape, free of all flaws. The underside of both the domed lid and base bears the pottery's imprinted mark. The pictures seem a bit green. The actual tureen, however, is a rich dark brown. |
