This lovely and highly embossed pitcher is done in Fuchsia Shape, a floral and foliate design. It has four areas. From under the handle, foliates drape the vessel with curving stems of fuchsia blossoms winding around the lower part of the pitcher. The same occurs at the top under the handle. A third emerges from the bottom below the spout. The spout area itself has a large draped foliate. It's gorgeous.
This ewer was once paired with a basin, but we don't have it. The pitcher measures 12 inches tall. Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks or other flaws. It's the nice white color of wares from its period. |
