Here is a classically plain white ironstone pitcher or ewer measuring 12 inches tall. Its smooth, clean lines are complemented by a nice flattened border shape around the rim and spout. It's in great condition - no chips, cracks, or other damage.
It was mde in the pottery of John Edwards. Shapes such as this were in vogue during the 1870s. It does bear the English registry mark and the potters backstamp as well. This particular one, according to its stamp, dates to 1869, early for its style. |
