Manufacturer: Thomas Phillips & son or Thomas Godwin, c. 1834 - 54
This large, octagonal, pink transfer Staffordshire platter measures 16 inches long by 12 inches wide.

Its romantic central river scene freatures a formal garden, gothic buildings, and a wormtrack patterning on the surround. Though unmarked, we can identify it by the pattern. This is Marino. Two potters made this scene, Thomas Godwin, c. 1834 - 54, and T. Phillips and Son, also 1834 - 54. Usually, one finds this scene with the Phillips mark, so it is more likely from that pottery.

Condition is excellent - finely crazed with no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restoration.
