Manufacturer: John & William Ridgway

This small platter is particularly beautiful because of the little things: an embossed white border, and lovely embossed flowers along the gracefully scalloped rim. The pattern is Italian Flower Garden, a design made in the John and William Ridgway pottery which operated from 1814 until 1830. The center has elaborate flowers and scrolling as does the surround. There is also a great zigzag pattern separating the stippled blue on the surround from the white border.

It measures 11 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall. It is free of all chips and cracks. The high points on the edge show a little wear as might be expected. Glaze is shiny and free of utensil scratching.
