Circa: 1814-30 Manufacturer: John & William Ridgway
This small platter is particularly beautiful because of the little things: an embossed white border along a lobed edge and molded flowerheads between the lobes.
The pattern is Italian Flower Garden, a design made in the John and William Ridgway pottery which operated from 1814 until 1830. The center has elaborate flowers and scrolling as does the surround. There is also a crisp zigzag pattern separating the stippled blue on the surround from the white border.
It measures 11 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall. It is in great shape, free of all chips and cracks. |
