The blue transferware pattern is entitled Udina. It features a classic Alpine river scene with gothic buildings is the foreground.
The surround is terrific. It consists of floral areas with scrolled frames. The angles have foliates on a dark blue ground. The addition of the dark blue color to the other blue tones adds particular richness to this design.
It bears the pattern name and pottery, Joseph Clementson. This Staffordshire pottery operated from 1839 until 1864.
Condition is excellent. There is some fine crazing as would be expected. There are no chips. cracks, hairlines, stains, or restoration. Any white spots on the pictures are a product of the flash. |
