Manufacturer: Staffordshire potter
The vegetable tureen presented measures 10 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall. It has a classic pattern entitled Verona. An image of a statue and classic vases appear in a formal garden setting. Bands of foliates frame the scene around the lid's rim. The same band appears on the exterior of the pedestaled base. The interior has a scene similar to thelid. It is surrouded by scenic reserves that are separated by foliates and scrolls.
Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restoration. The exact potter is unknown. It is marked only with pattern name. By its characteristics, we would date this one to the 1840 -60 period. |
