Manufacturer: Staffordshire potter This rare and lovely Staffordshire blue transfer fruit bowl measures 13 inches long by 5 inches tall.

The pattern on the interior and exterior is that of moss-like foliates. In the center of the well is the image of a classic vase.
Note the three-lobed cut-out design on the sides and on the ruffled top. The handles on each side are nicely embossed.
One seldom finds an item as scarce as this in such excellent condition. It has one tiny flake on the underside of one handle, small and insignificant. See the picture.
This bowl dates to the 1815 - 25 period. In is marked with an imprint, "Imperial Stone." The imprint is very close to the edge of the piece. We believe the word "China" was therefore omitted from the imprint. Wares marked with the term, Imperial Stone China, are known to date to the 1815 - 25 period. |
