Manufacturer: Early Staffordshire potter
This beautiful early teapot measures 10 inches long and stand 6 inches tall. It is an early one, c. 1815, unmarked. The scene features a shepherd leaning against a tree trunk with lyre in hand. His sheep listen as he plays. The border features flowers and scrolls.
We had the tip of the spout restored because there were chippies, and a hairline that crossed the bottom and affected one side was also restored, both with perfect results. The only chip is a small one to the underside of the lid, the part that fits down into the teapot. See the picture. |
