We offer a large Staffordshire brown transferware plate with hairline cracks. This pattern, Seasons, is quite hard to find and beautiful. Though this plate is damaged, it makes a fabulous presentation and would therefore be fine on a wall or shelf.
It measures 10 1/2 inches wide. The hairline meanders around the surround and affects the well slightly. There are no chips.
The subject matter of the transfer features a Scottish hunt scene. On the surround scenes entitled Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring alternate with clusters of fruit. The rim is scalloped and beaded.
This plate normally is priced quite high. Because of the flaws, we have priced it moderately. |
