This large pink transferware platter measures 16 1/2 by 12 3/4 inches. The edge is nicely scalloped and bordered in a beaded pattern. The name reflects the central image, that of a tea leaf, Camilla sinesis.
This pattern was first produced by the Spode pottery in 1833. This particular platter was made by the manufactory that later took over the company. It is marked with the Copeland imprint. This platter dates to 1953.
Condition is fabulous - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restorations.
