Here is an underplate for a white ironstone sauce tureen. The embossed design is Atlantic Shape. It measures 9 inches long by 6 1/2 inches wide. It once held a sauce tureen of the same shape, but we do not have it. The undertray is being offered alone.

It was made in the pottery of T. & R. Boote who registered the shape in 1858 and 1859. It is in excellent condition condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restoration. It does have crazing but no lines that are deeper than the glaze.
