Here is a gorgous, large white ironstone water pitcher measuring 13 inches from base to the top of the thumb rest.

It is in excellent condition, free of all chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restoration. The glaze shows a few lines, but nothing that penetrates.
The shape is very graceful. Draped leaves decorate the pitcher under the handle and the spout. The middle part is quite slim with a beautifully curved spout.
It bears the backstamp of Bridgwood and Clarke, c. 1860. |
