Circa: 1835-49 Manufacturer: Charles Meigh
Here is an early Staffordshire pitcher measuring 10 2/3 inches tall. The color is light blue. It was made in the pottery of Charles Meigh, c. 1835 - 49. This pattern is known as Scroll Frond Border.
We love the prominent spout and the wide band of scrolling scrolling on a stippled ground that decorates the top part of the pitcher. Though unmarked, we can identify the pattern and maker by the specifics of the design.
Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restoration. |
