This gorgeous lid has an oversized fruit finial, a fig of pattern name. This is Fig Shape. This shape was made in both the Davenport and J. Wedgwood potteries. The shape was registered in 1856.

Both potters made the vegetable tureens in smaller and larger shapes. This is the larger one. It measures 10 1/2 inches long by 8 inches wide.

This early lid is in great shape, free of all chips and cracks.
