Manufacturer: Staffordshire potter
The tea pot presented dates to the 1820 - 40 period. Note the flower finial, footed base, and serpent handle. It measures 11 3/4 inches long by 7 inches tall.
The hand-painted embellishments consist of a band of green filiates along with red and blue flowers and dark brown stems.
The teapot is in good shape. It has some rubbing to some of the high points, a chip on the inside top edge that is covered by the lid, a small ding to the tip of the spout as pictured, and two star lines that are visible only with very close inspection. The lid has two chips on the underside and one on the outer edge. See the pictures. Given the flaws, the price for this early teapot is low. |
