We present here a sauce tureen pedestal or underplate measuring 8 1/2 inches wide. It was made in the pottery of E. Challinor and dates to 1845.

This underplate is Grape Octagon Shape. It is the perfect match if you have the Challinor Grape Octagon sauce tureen. Note the crabstock handles, raised center, and sharply embossed grape clusters on the surround. It is marked with the pottery's backstamp.
Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restoration. |
