The platter presented measures 12 1/4 by 9 1/3 inches. The blue transfer scene depicts a university building with several figures on the grounds. The male figures wear cap and gown, harking back to a tradition from long ago.
The octagonal surround has diapering and scenes at six points. It bears the Ridgway backstamp with pattern name and pottery initials.
Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restoration. |
