Here is a classic brown transferware flat rimmed soup plate measuring 9 inches wide by 1 1/4 inches tall. The pattern is entitled Pompeii. It was made in the John & George Alcock pottery, c. 1839 - 46.
The pattern features a classic urn which has female images on its side. The surroud has floral images with tiny foliates. The edge is scalloped.
This soup plate is in excellent condition, free of flaws.
