Manufacturer: T. J. & J. Mayer
We offer here a large bi-color transferware platter, 12 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches. This pretty platter has a sharply transferred design in black.

It shows a large mansion with a family scene before it. There, the baron of the pattern name greets his son who stands with the family hounds. The baron and baroness ride horses as a servant leads her steed. The surround, done in medium blue, has a linear pattern.

The octagonal platter has everted ribs on the surround. The backstamp gives the pattern name and pottery. The pattern is entitled Baronial Halls. It was made in the Thomas John and Joseph pottery, c. 1843 - 55.

It is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations.
