Manufacturer: Clews
This purple transfer plate measures just shy of 7 inches wide. The romantic scene, entitled Canovian, features a garden setting with a classic building in the distance. The surround has scenic areas, diapering, and crossed feathers. IT is bordered in white with dimensional beading on the irregularly scalloped rim.
It was made in the pottery of Ralph and James Cledws, c. 1818 - 34. Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or restorations. |
