Here is a 6 3/4 inch diameter early blue transfer plate, cobalt in color. The pattern is entitled Palestine. It was made in the pottery of Ralph Stevenson, 1810 - 1832.
It is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations. The Oriental pattern features several pagodas across a river. Several figures appear in the foreground. The scene appears grotto style, surrounded by hanging willows, foliates, and flowers. |
