The little platter presented measures 9 by 7 inches. The pink transfer pattern is Temple Warriors. It is a design that was never named but has come to be known by the appellation. It was made in the Adams pottery and dates to the 1830s.
It is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations. The border has dimensional beading and a white border on the scalloped rim. The handles are nicely embossed.
Temple Warriors is a pattern with several views. Each involves one or more soldiers in native garb before an elaborate facade. The surround has large floral displays. |
