Here is a plate in a pattern that is treasured by many, Millenium. The name, a misspelling of Millennium, signifies the biblical prophesy of the thousand-year reign of peace and prosperity. The design includes a bible opened to the prophesy, Isaiah, Chapter XIV.
The images include the all-seeing eye of God at the top surrounded by fruit and flowers - images a plenty. A prominent zigzag pattern separates the surround from the well. There, the central image is that of a child who is yoking a lion. The peaceful scene includes a resting lamb, goat, panther, cow and fox. At the bottom is a figure in prayer along with the words, "Give us this day our daily bread."
It measures 9 inches wide and is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations. It was made in the pottery of Ralph Stevenson which operated from 1810 to 1835.
