This large and heavy ironstone plate measures 10 1/2 inches wide. The Oriental pattern is entitled Madras. It is a desing of pagodas across the river from three figures in conversation on the bank. It is a 12 sided plate in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines stains, and restorations.
It was made in the pottery of Wood &
Brownfield which operated from 1838 to 1850. |
