This pink transfer plate measures 9 inches wide. It was mad in the pottery of John Maddock. The imprinted backstamp is the one used by the pottery prior to the name change to Maddock & Sons. The date of the plate's potting therefore is 1842 - 1855.
The design features two figures on the banks of a river. The surround has foliate designs. It is 12-sided and panelled.
There are no chips or cracks, but utensil marks and crazing are evident. |
