Manufacturer: Staffordshire
Here is a flat rimmed soup plate, 9 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. It was made in the Ridgway, Sparkes & Ridgway pottery in Hanley, which operated from 1873 - 9. The English Registry Mark dates this bowl to 1877.
It is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations. There is some crazing, and the rim shows some rubbing.
The aesthetic design features waterfowl in a natural setting of reeds, cattails, bamboo, and flying birds. The edge has a bamboo band.
