This plate was made in the early years of the William Adams pottery and dates to the 1820 - 40 period. Condition is excellent.
It is a fabulous pattern. Actually, it was never named by the Adams pottery, but it has come to be known as Temple Warriors. Two figures in elaborate garb and headdress appears to be taking a break from their duties before a stylized temple, spears in hand.
The surround is highly scalloped, dimensionally beaded, and bordered in white. These aspects add to the beauty and charm of the plate. We have two of these plates, so if you want both, please let us know.
