Manufacturer: Staffordshire
This lovely flower and vase platter is entitled Nankin Jar. It measures 15 by 11 inches and is octagonal. The ironstone body is quite dense; the platter is very heavy.
By its look and feel, we would date it to the 1840 - 50 period. The potter is not given for this design.
The transfer design is quite elegant and skillfully applied. It features a vase with stylized flowers. Geometrics line the rim.
It is free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations. The glaze shows wear consistent with its many years. It is marked with pattern name and imprinted mark reading "Real Ironstone China." |
