The ironstone body is quite dense; the platter is very heavy.
By its look and feel, we would date it to the 1840 - 50 period. The potter is not given for this design.
The transfer design is quite elegant and skillfully applied. It features a vase with stylized flowers. Geometrics line the rim.
It is free of chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, and restorations. The glaze shows a bit of wear consistent with its many years. It is marked with pattern name and imprinted mark reading "Real Ironstone China." |
