Offered is a blue transfer plate, 10 1/4" wide. The romantic pattern is Italia, made in the pottery of Thomas Furnival & Co., and dating to 1844 - 46.
Condition is excellent - no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or repairs.
The scene shows a family of four and their dog on the banks of a river. The father is fishing with the some an rest beside him. Other romantic elements includ elms, an arched bridge, and classic buildings. The surround has a pretty diamond patterning with a foliate design near the rim. Itis marked with the pattern name and pottery initials.
